Felippe Barros Mendonça

Head Coach

Originally from Santos, Brazil, Felippe Barros Mendonça was a 5-time Brazilian All-Around National Champion in Men’s Gymnastics and on the Brazil National Team for 10 years.

While competing for his country, Felippe represented Brazil in numerous prestigious events such as World Championships, 2 International Cups, University Games, and 2 Pan-American Gymnastics Union Games. Upon retiring from the sport, Felippe earned his degree in Physical Therapy and in Acupuncture while also earning top scores as a FIG (Federation of International Gymnastics) Judge. It was while he was working as a professor in Brazil that he was called by Cirque du Soleil to join the show “Corteo”. For five years, Felippe traveled North America, Japan, and Russia where he performed both the  Trampo-bed and Tournik act.

After leaving tour and following his wife Meaghan Muller to Atlanta, Felippe decided to return to his passion of gymnastics, but now as gymnastics coach. In three short years, Felippe has become known as one of Georgia’s top coaches with titles earned such as Level 10 All-Around State Champion, Level 10 Regional Team Member, Level 10 National Team Member, Xcel Team State Champions, and Xcel Team Regional Champions in the girls side. But not long ago Felippe has changed to coach Boys and have produced many National ranked gymnasts. Felippe is the former State Chairman for the Men’s Gymnastics Program where he was recently nominated by his peers to be the Coach of the Year 2018 solidifying him a spot as State Clinician for most of the State Clinics. Currently, he is the Supervisor for the Men’s Program here at Roswell Gymnastics.


Michael Bereznev - Assistant Coach

Level 10 & 9 Assistant Coach and Elite Team Coach

Coach Michael is a Graduate of P.F. Lesgaft University of Physical Culture and Sport Science in St. Petersburg Russia. He has coached at SKA (Sports Army Club) as well as National School of Olympic Trainees, both located in St. Petersburg, Russia. His memberships and certifications include USAG member, AAU member, Safety Certification, and U100. He was an elite Russian gymnast for 14 years and has been coaching for 32 years.  From 1994-1999, Michael coached the Malaysian National Team. He has coached a World Cup medalists. Gymnasts he has coached have placed in multiple girls and boys state, regional, national and international championships.


Coach Leandro Heredia - Assistant Coach

Level 8 & 6 Assistant Coach and Elite Team Coach

Coach Leandro is our program architect when it comes to developing our compulsory levels towards the elite team path. He is also the head coach of our Elite Level 8 team and has an eye for catching and developing young talent that has benefited our program throughout the past seasons. He also coaches our Level 6 team and assists with our Level 9 and 10 programs.

Last season (2022) 3 of his Elite Level 8 team members qualified to compete at the 2022 Development Program National Championships. These three young men (Kijani Davis, Bentley Watson, and Dominic Liriano) ranked 4th as a team. Another member of last season's level 8 team (Sebastian Guaderrama) competed at the 2022 Men’s Eastern National Championships.

Most recently one of his Level 6 gymnast, Shai F qualified for the Future Stars Program. The 2022 Future Stars National Championships was held in Colorado Springs, Colorado on November 17-19, 2022. During this time Shai competed against the best compulsory gymnasts across the nation. Coach Leandro participated in valuable workshops that have and will benefit the Roswell Men’s Gymnastics' program and help us continue our efforts to continue being one of the best teams in the Nation.
