Roswell's Level 6 Shai Flaks Qualifies to Compete at the 2022 Future Stars National Championships

October 14, 2022. Congratulations to Coach Leandro Heredia and Roswell Men’s Gymnastics Level 6 Teammate Shai Flaks on qualifying to compete at the 2022 Future Stars National Championships! At this Championship Shai and Coach Leandro will be competing for a spot on the 2022-23 Development Team. 

The 2022 Future Stars National Championships will be held in Colorado Springs, Colorado on November 17-19. During this time Shai will compete against the best compulsory gymnasts across the nation. Shai is a focused and hard working gymnast and we are positive he will do well.  Coach Leandro will participate in valuable workshops that will benefit the Roswell Men’s Gymnastics' program and help us continue our efforts to continue being one of the best teams in the Nation. 

Coach Leandro is our program architect when it comes to developing our compulsory levels towards the elite team path. He is also the head coach of our Elite Level 8 team and has an eye for catching and developing young talent that has benefited our program throughout the past seasons. He also coaches our Level 6 team and assists with our Level 9 and 10 programs.

Last season 3 of his Elite Level 8 team members qualified to compete at the 2022 Development Program National Championships. These three young men (Kijani Davis, Bentley Watson, and Dominic Liriano) ranked 4th as a team. Another member of last season's level 8 team (Sebastian Guaderrama) competed at the 2022 Men’s Eastern National Championships. 

Last season L8 Bentley Watson qualified to compete as a member of the Region 8 Level 8 team and L8 Kijani served as an alternate member of the same team. These athletes earned this honor by training hard and placing at competitions. They were honored to traveled to Chicago to compete and represent Region 8 at the 2022 Windy City Invite. Coach Leandro is currently training these athletes’ along with a new crop of Level 8’s to compete for a spot on the 2023 Region 8 team. We hope to hear the results before the end of the year.
